"Written under this image in the Appletree Hollow album, was the date of 1827 with the title: Dee & Dum - the Tweedle Twins. I was a stunned at first and obviously, my thoughts went immediately to Lewis Carroll’s famous writings of “Through the Looking- Glass and what Alice found There”. Could there possibly be a link? I began rummaging through the diaries to see if I could find out more information about these two and finally found several notations and references to older diary entries. At this point, I can tell you that, yes indeed, they seem to be the original Tweedle brothers and could have been the two that Lewis Carroll referred to in her stories. They were identical twins who, as far as I can tell, never contradicted each other. Rather, they complimented each other in every way so completely that they became very famous, eventually owning a chain of clothing stores – “The Tweedle Brothers” finest in tailored wool clothing for big men.
I will be giving more of their complete history later on, in the Appletree Hollow Story."

a bit more.
This is a mural on a building in our art district they
call the Short North. It is obviously a quirky take of the famous
" American Gothic". I used to have a gallery just across the street
from this building. I thought it would be fun to use it for a different idea."

"While sitting and sketching outside a Ohio State campus cafe,
I noticed a man working on a ladder 3.5 stories high above the
street walkers.
It brought back memories of myself many years ago. It is hard for
me to believe now, that I once painted campus sorority houses that
were often 3 stories high. Now I think I must have been absolutely
insane."

"Today's painting is a young man with headphones walking past "Larry's
Bar & Grill. A bit of nostalgia for you. This is probably the oldest hang out
near the Ohio State Campus.
I remember going here in the late 60's. It was the place for artists and cool
hippies to sit and talk politics, play chess and of course have a cold beer."

Nice to be posting on my blog today, after completing some larger works
for a show, finishing my 3 new books, which are now available, and catching
up on commissions, I can now get back into my usual groove of posting.
Whew! It's been a busy month.
