"Age of Kings" - sold
9" x 10.75"x 3/4" Book Art
Colorful images,diagrams and words create a 3D look into "The Age of Kings".
First it is sealed shut and then, using delicate knives,scissors, and tweezers,
I carve into into the book, one page at a time, to reveal its hidden treasures.
Nothing is moved from its original location in the book. It takes a lot of time, patience and a steady hand but the end result is a detailed 3D view of the inside and "new" life to an old outdated and unwanted book.
A clear glass panel is placed under the front cover to protect it from the elements. There is a notched hanger on the back so it can be hung on the wall or placed in a small book stand.
I love books! This is about the old outdated and unwanted books that even
the bookstores won't take. You know the ones... the yard sale, thrift store, can't sell books.
Like most of you... I have them and decided to give them new life.
It takes a very steady hand and lots of time & patience but I really enjoy the adventure.
