War Clown - antique german doll

Copyright © 2010 Linda Apple
"War Clown" - sold
oil on canvas
6"x8"

Something a bit different today. Wanted to share a bit of
personal family nostalgia with you. This is a painting of
a German made clown doll.
My dad was in the army in WWII and marched along beside tanks
through Germany. He brought this little doll back with him
around 1943. It has a plaster type head and hands and the
cloth body appears to be stuffed with the old straw type filling.
